About the Role
The Practice Nurse plays an important role in delivering high quality clinical care and supporting the overall health and wellbeing of Yadu Health clients. This position provides day to day nursing leadership within the clinic, contributes to preventative health programs, and ensures culturally safe and respectful care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* Conducting triage, patient assessments, and care planning.
* Delivering preventative health checks and completing Medicare funded health assessments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
* Coordinating and monitoring care plans, recalls, and chronic disease management activities.
* Providing clinical leadership in health education programs and infection control.
* Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and supporting multidisciplinary teamwork.
* Providing guidance and supervision to team members.
This role requires someone who is proactive, culturally respectful, and deeply aligned with our mission to support First Nations health outcomes. The position is located full time at the Yadu Health Clinic in Ceduna, South Australie.
About You
To thrive in this position, we are looking for candidates who can meet the following criteria:
* Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with valid AHPRA registration.
* Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
* Up to date immunisations including COVID19.
* Strong clinical assessment skills, with at least 3 years of experience in primary health care or a similar setting.
* High level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledge of common health issues affecting rural and remote communities is highly desirable.
* Certificate IV Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) is highly desirable.
* Valid Driver Licence (Class C or equivalent).
* Have permanent work rights in Australia without needing employer sponsorship.
