About the Service

Singleton Hospital Pharmacy is a small, close‑knit team providing safe and timely access to medicines across all specialist areas of Singleton Hospital. You’ll work alongside a pharmacist who works one day a fortnight and a pharmacy technician who works three days a week.

Because we’re a small service, you’ll quickly learn the wards, nurses, doctors and allied health teams – and they’ll get to know you. Our work is hands‑on, varied and patient‑focused, and we pride ourselves on being reliable, approachable and collaborative.

Our Culture

We’re a friendly, supportive team that genuinely looks out for each other. Everyone pitches in and no job is considered “someone else’s problem”. We value:

- Respect and trust
- A sense of humour on busy days
- Taking pride in doing the job properly

About the Role

You will be an all‑rounder pharmacy technician, involved in all aspects of the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy. A typical day or week might include:

- Stock management: ordering, receiving and rotating stock, checking expiry dates, and ensuring wards have what they need
- Dispensing support: preparing medications under the supervision of the pharmacist
- Prepacks and ward packs: making and maintaining pre‑packed medications and ward stock packs
- Paperwork and systems: managing documentation, filing, and keeping records accurate and up to date
- General support: helping with anything the pharmacists need to keep the service running smoothly

You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the full range of technician tasks and build strong working relationships across the hospital.

Who We’re Looking For – Non‑negotiables

- Qualified and experienced Pharmacy Technician (hospital experience highly regarded)
- Able to work independently and also collaboratively within a small team
- Reliable, organised and able to manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety

Can Be Learned on the Job

- Local systems and processes
- Specific hospital procedures and workflows
- Familiarity with particular specialist areas within Singleton Hospital

How You’ll Be Supported

- Structured orientation to the pharmacy, hospital wards and key processes
- Hands‑on training days with the current technician (who is going on leave in January) to ensure a smooth handover
- Ongoing day‑to‑day support from a very supportive pharmacist team

What We Can Offer You

- Proximity to shopping and other services
- 4 weeks annual leave (pro‑ratio for part‑time employees)
- Salary packaging options – up to $11,600 plus novated leasing
- Fitness Passport for health and well‑being – discounted gym options for you and your family
