We're looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team in Warragul. This part-time, onsite role is ideal for someone who enjoys accuracy, values structure, and wants to contribute to a friendly, supportive workplace.
This role requires availability to work during a pay week that ends on Sunday, with payment processed Wednesday.
About the Role
Reporting to Management, you will take ownership of the weekly payroll process and ensure staff are paid correctly, on time and in line with legislation, awards and internal policies.
Responsibilities
* End-to-end weekly payroll processing
* Verifying timesheets, overtime, penalty rates and leave
* Processing terminations, redundancies and final pays
* Managing adjustments, deductions, reimbursements and back-pay
* STP reporting and superannuation processing
* Maintaining payroll records, pay rates and employee information
* Supporting onboarding/offboarding from a payroll perspective
* Responding to payroll queries professionally and promptly
* Assist with other accounts-related tasks as required, providing backup support across the finance function
Qualifications
* Experience processing full-function payroll in Australia
* Strong understanding of Fair Work, NES, ATO requirements and awards
* Experience with STP, PAYG tax, superannuation and leave entitlements
* Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
* High professionalism, confidentiality and communication skills
* Confidence using payroll software and Microsoft Excel
* Experience with Reckon Hosted, Employment Hero and/or KeyPay
* Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or similar
* Experience setting up new systems
