ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are seeking a passionate and suitably qualified and experienced planner to join Council's motivated and professional Strategic Planning team. Reporting to the Coordinator Strategic Planning, the position is responsible for providing a high level of assistance and support in carrying out a diverse range of strategic planning tasks to achieve excellent planning outcomes. The successful candidate will assist to develop strategic plans and policies and implement, review and rationalise studies and planning controls that reflect the Council’s and community requirements.
A key aspect of this senior role will be to work closely with the Manager and Coordinator to provide supervisory and mentoring support to junior planning staff and to ensure section goals and objectives are achieved.
Council will consider both part time and full time working arrangements, and will discuss preferred working arrangements with shortlisted candidates at interview stage.
To be successful you will bring

2. Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Environmental Planning or an allied profession combined with demonstrated extensive industry experience.
3. Demonstrated extensive working knowledge of planning and environmental legislation within a NSW local government context.
4. Demonstrated experience in the preparation and administration of planning instruments, policies and strategies.
5. Proven experience in the coordination and delivery of community and stakeholder engagement programs.
6. Proven experience in the preparation and presentation of technical reports and submissions.

7. An annual salary range of $92,000 to $105,600 (plus 11% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
