A Local Government organisation in Western Sydney is seeking a passionate Social Media Assistant to join their Communications and Marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key new waste management initiative, supporting the introduction of Food Organics, Garden Organics (FOGO) services through strategic digital engagement.
About the Role
• Coordinate and deliver social media posts for the new FOGO waste services campaign in line with scheduled deadlines.
• Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing team to align posts with broader council campaigns.
• Ensure compliance with council media policies and approval procedures.
• Manage website updates and approvals related to the waste services program.
• Support photography, video production, and content creation to enhance campaign communications.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and partners to maximise promotional opportunities.
About You
• Certificate III in Business Administration, Media, Marketing, Public Relations or equivalent experience in social media marketing.
• Proven experience in managing and executing social media marketing campaigns.
• Local Council experience (desirable)
• Current Class C Driver's Licence.
• Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
