Aboriginal Youth Housing Support Worker - 30 Hours Per Week

St Patrick's Community Support Centre – Fremantle WA

St Patrick's Community Support Centre is seeking an Aboriginal Youth Housing Support Worker to join our Youth Place team supporting Aboriginal young people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

Youth Place provides culturally safe outreach and transitional housing support to young people aged 15-25 years across the Fremantle region. This role is focused on supporting Aboriginal young people to achieve stable housing, build independence and improve wellbeing through trauma informed and culturally responsive practice.

About the role

In this role, you will:

* Provide culturally safe case management and practical support to Aboriginal young people
* Support clients to maintain and sustain accommodation
* Assist young people to develop independent living skills and achieve personal goals
* Work collaboratively with specialist services and community supports
* Facilitate group activities, workshops and social connection opportunities
* Advocate for young people and support access to housing, health and community services
* Maintain accurate case notes, reporting and client records
About you

To be successful, you will have:

* Experience working with Aboriginal young people and/or communities
* Experience in youth work, housing support, case management or community services
* Understanding of trauma informed and culturally safe practice
* Strong communication, relationship building and conflict resolution skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* A relevant qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or similar (or relevant experience)
* Meaningful work supporting Aboriginal young people in the community
* Supportive and values‐driven organisation
