Overview
Experienced Social Worker required for this NT service. This is a remote 60 bed hospital. The service requires high level skills as a sole Social Worker and demonstrated cultural competence working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. There is a high incidence of domestic and family violence, child neglect and abuse reporting and statutory child removal, as well as provide services across:
Sexual violence
ED presentations
Crisis response (adults and paediatrics)
Guardianship
Advocacy
NDIS applications
Inpatients only ED, acute wards general medical, surgical, palliative care, rehabilitation, maternity and paediatrics
You must have robust crisis response and experience with victims of domestic and sexual violence
Key Skills Required
Experience providing social work services within a hospital setting (Emergency Department), including crisis intervention and short term support
Strong knowledge and experience in domestic and family violence risk assessment, safety planning and support services
Experience working with child protection concerns, including mandatory reporting requirements and liaising with relevant agencies
Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and after-hours shifts, on call
Logistics
ASAP until 6th October + possible extension
Return flights covered and free accommodation
A driving license is required for this role
Locum rates dependent on experience
This role requires you to be eligible for AASW membership
