* Commercial sheep alongside quality cattle herds
* Data-driven decision making, high production, intensive grazing focus
* Develop your skills with further training and mentoring available
The Role
Spanning 3,000 ha, South Killanoola is a long-held family enterprise seeking a stockperson to join its close-knit team. By embracing technology to support data-driven decision-making, it currently manages 900 cows and 4,500 composite ewes.
Ideally, with experience in a similar role, you will report directly to the farm manager and assist with all animal husbandry tasks, farm infrastructure, and machinery repair and maintenance. The herd primarily comprises Angus-based cattle with autumn calving to produce weaner steers.
Utilising EIDs to monitor the commercial flock, they are rotationally grazed and managed in breeding groups for prime and store lamb production. Infrastructure includes undercover sheep yards constructed in recent years. All stock movements are completed with quads or SBS, making it advantageous for applicants to have their own quality working dogs for this purpose.
Continual improvement is sought to ensure the optimum performance of pastures, stock, and cropping programs. Technology, including Agriwebb, Trutest, and water reticulation monitoring systems, is also utilised where possible to assist in the overall management and improvement of the operation.
This position is designated for a mixed livestock stockperson; however, our client is open to discussing opportunities with candidates with limited livestock experience who possess relevant skills from a family farming background or other transferable experiences. A strong, positive attitude is a crucial requirement for this role.
The Offer
A generous salary, in conjunction with an accommodation package, will be offered based on your skills and experience, along with other benefits to be negotiated.
Naracoorte and Penola are less than a 30-minute drive away, providing convenient access to all amenities and employment opportunities with partners.

* Strong skills with livestock or a passion to learn

* Mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills with machinery – highly regarded
* General farm maintenance skills, including fencing
