About The Role
BOQ Group is looking for a Senior Brand Designer to join The Inside Job, our in-house creative studio. In this role, you'll contribute to the visual identity of ME Bank, Virgin Money Australia, and Bank of Queensland, working across a range of brand and marketing projects. You'll be responsible for translating strategic direction into clear, effective design across both digital and print channels. Your experience with brand systems, attention to detail, and strong design craft will be key to delivering high-quality work. Working alongside the Brand Design Lead, you'll help maintain and evolve our multi-brand design systems and libraries, ensuring consistency and creative excellence across all touchpoints.
Key Accountabilities
* Lead the design and execution of brand projects, ensuring creative excellence and alignment with brand strategy.
* Contribute to creative direction and conceptual development, offering strategic design thinking and technical insight.
* Translate business and marketing objectives into effective visual communications across digital and print.
* Act as a brand guardian, ensuring consistency and integrity across all touchpoints.
* Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies to deliver cohesive, high-quality design outcomes.
* Provide informal mentorship and support to midweight and junior designers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
* Help establish and maintain a fit-for-purpose digital design system including style guides, libraries, and templates to ensure consistency and scalability across brands and platforms.
* Identify opportunities to improve workflows and processes for greater efficiency and impact.
* Present design work and rationale to stakeholders, responding to feedback with clarity and professionalism.
* Stay ahead of design trends, tools, and technologies, bringing fresh thinking to the team.
About You
* You're experienced with Adobe and Figma, comfortable working within design systems, and able to use variables, tokens, and reusable components efficiently.
* You apply typography, layout, and visual hierarchy best practices with clarity and purpose.
* You present your work clearly and respond to feedback constructively. Collaboration comes naturally with internal teams or external partners.
* You value mentorship and enjoy supporting junior designers, helping them grow while contributing to a strong creative culture.
* You stay informed about industry developments and bring thoughtful, forward-looking ideas to projects.
The successful person will demonstrate
* 10+ years' experience in brand design, ideally within an agency or in-house creative team.
* Proven ability to lead design projects from concept to delivery with minimal oversight.
* Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
* Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including set up and maintenance of variables, tokens, reusable components, and templates.
* Mastery of design fundamentals: typography, layout, visual hierarchy.
* Deep understanding of brand strategy, visual identity systems, and digital design principles.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
* Passion for craft, detail, and delivering beautifully executed design work.
* Experience in establishing and maintaining design system governance.
