**Wests Group Macarthur** has a unique opportunity for an experienced Function & Events Manager to drive optimum performance commercially and financially across our venues into the next phase of growth. Currently the group has 8 event spaces across 3 venues and can host events from 15 - 500, in our recently renovated spaces. This is an amazing opportunity to showcase our award-winning wedding venue 'Camden Lakeside' with a beautifully landscaped golf course and surrounding gardens.
**About the role**
Working alongside a supportive management team, we are seeking a highly motivated professional Function & Events Manager to revolutionise the way we coordinate and execute functions, conferences, and events. This is a varied role that will have you promoting our event brand, generating sales, and overseeing all functions and events. This is a hands-on role for an inspiring leader with initiative and passion for delivery of excellence in everything that they do. As the Function & Events Manager, you will be required to work in partnership with the Group Executive Chef and Catering Services Manager, Supervisors and Managers to create a memorable experience for our valued clients and often delivering multiple events on a daily basis.
**Key responsibilities of this role include**:
- Management of end-to-end function and events across the Wests Group
- Develop an effective function and event sales strategy to drive sales to maximise revenue for function and events profitability, driving new and existing business
- Lead, mentor and develop function & event team members to deliver consistent and professional service
- Conduct site inspections and prepare event proposals to meet the needs of our clients
- Ensure exceptional customer service from the initial contact with the client until the post follow up communication
- Enhance the current event model and function packages
- Assist with function menu development
- Prepare event contracts, agreements, event sheets and roster schedules
- Implement and maintain all function and event standards and procedures
- Instill customer focused and performance driven culture among the function & events team
- Manage event invoicing, payments, budgets, and reporting
- Work collaboratively with business units to lead and champion operational improvements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a multi-venue role with excellent competency in securing, planning, and delivering high calibre events across all levels
- Strong ability to manage client expectations from the start to finish of events and beyond
- Highly motivated to seek out new business and increase business profitability
- Solution focused, innovative and creative thinker with strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Sound financial understanding of events, including budgeting and revenue forecasting, invoicing and monthly reporting
- Build, maintain and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrate drive, dedication, and total commitment into making this position your own
- Have great vision, knowledge and passion for the food and beverage industry
- Extensive knowledge of food and beverage service procedures
- Resilient and flexible to be able to work under demanding circumstances
- Excellent time management, organisational skills and have attention to detail
- The ability to manage and schedule your team for function planning, set-ups, and service
- Current RSA and RCG certifications
- Experience with EventPro or similar events software
- Event Management qualifications would be highly regarded
- An ability to work weekends, public holidays and varied shifts as per operational requirements of the department
- Full drivers' licence and use of own car
