About The Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is actively seeking a Clinical Coding Auditor/Educator who can contribute to their dynamic team. This opportunity offers professional growth and the chance to contribute to the accuracy and compliance of clinical coding practices, enhance coding education and training, and refine healthcare data management, directly supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maintain the quality of coded data.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in ****, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds. The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation.
Qualifications
Degree or Associate Diploma in Medical Records Administration, Health Information Management or other relevant health related qualification and/or experience relevant to the role.
Proven coding experience with detailed knowledge of ICD-10-AM.
Experience in conducting, documenting and communicating quality improvement activities particularly as they pertain to the clinical coding area.
Excellent standard of verbal and written communication skills, with excellent report writing and data presentation skills.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong knowledge of casemix measurement systems in relation to the hospital environment as well as current developments in activity-based funding.
Proven experience in database management, particularly using MS Access as well as proficiency in all MS Office products.
Experience with computerised patient administration systems.
