About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Senior Activities and Events Officer to join a regional local government role where you will play a pivotal role in delivering some of the biggest events across Newman, Marble Bar and Nullagine.
You will support the events team with their promotional marketing, coordination of activities and be the head honcho of organisation when it comes to grant-funded reporting and acquittals, ensuring all information is accurately documented and accounted for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be part of a vibrant, forward-thinking team that values creativity and collaboration.
- Plan, coordinate & deliver activities/events across Newman, Marble Bar and Nullagine.
- Liaise with internal teams, community groups, and stakeholders.
- Lead marketing efforts in collaboration with Communications team.
- Support administrative, budget and grant-related tasks.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and safety practices.
- Lead reporting and acquittals for grant-funded events.
- Develop and maintain the Events Calendar.
- Assist with strategy development and continuous improvement.
About You
- You will be versatile to work weekends for event day delivery as and when required.
- You will have previously worked for local government roles.
- You will have a TAFE Diploma/Advanced Diploma or significant experience in coordinating community events.
- You will have strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- You will have experience working within multidisciplinary work environments.
- You will have excellent administration skills.
- You will have a passion for event planning and coordination for local communities.
- You must be able to multitask and prioritise workload.
- You must be proactive, energetic, and have a solutions-focused mindset.
- Hold a current WA ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Undertake or obtain an NPC.
