The Viking Group focuses on renewable energy, security, and electrical systems, we are seeking a reliable Solar Installer to be part of our team.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
* Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential, commercial, and/or industrial sites.
* Assemble, mount, and secure solar panels, racking, and related equipment on roofs or ground-mounted structures.
* Perform electrical wiring, connections, and testing in accordance with standards and regulations.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and system designs.
* Ensure all installations comply with safety codes, electrical standards, and company procedures.
* Conduct site assessments, measurements, and basic system troubleshooting.
* Inspect and maintain solar systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
* Work safely at heights and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Collaborate with electricians, project managers, and team members to complete installations on schedule.
* Complete installation documentation, checklists, and handover reports.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order.
* Provide professional and courteous service to customers on site.
Qualification
Relevant Certificate III or IV or equivalent
CEC Accredited
Experience
3+ years relevant experience
Skills
* Strong attention to detail
* High level of accuracy and good manual dexterity
* Strong awareness of safety
* Critical thinking
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
* Knowledge of Electrotechnics, as well as tools and instruments
