About the opportunity:
At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Personal Care Assistant, you'll make a genuine difference where it is needed. We are seeking expressions of interest from Personal Care Assistants for our Residential Aged Care facilities in Western Australia; Mercy Place Mandurah (Halls Head), Mercy Place Lathlain, Mercy Place Mont Clare, Edgewater Mercy Hostel and Villa Maria Hostel (Lesmurdie)
* Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Help with mobility, including transferring residents from bed to chair, assisting with walking, and using mobility aids safely.
* ·Support residents with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and assisting with special dietary needs.
* Assist with medication reminders and support residents in taking prescribed medications, under the guidance of a nurse.
* Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a caring and comfortable environment for residents.
* Help maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks, including making beds and cleaning rooms.
* Assist with organizing and engaging in activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.
* Respond to residents' requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
* Follow care plans as outlined by registered nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
* Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents' privacy, dignity, and personal preferences.
* Adhere to safety protocols, including infection control procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
What you'll bring:
You're resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional resident-centred care.
To thrive in this role, you will have:
* Relevant certificate III or IV qualifications in Aged Care
* First Aid and CPR Certification
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
* NDIS Clearance and OR valid police check
