About the position
The Helpdesk Officer will assist the Information Services Manager in the delivery of IT Services to Council and the Community. There is a requirement for this role to be onsite and to travel to Muswellbrook Shire Council sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
* Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software applications
* Assist with setup and maintenance of meeting rooms, AV equipment, and other IT infrastructure
* Co-ordinate the procurement of Council Information Technology equipment and maintain registers of the allocation of Information Technology resources
* Provide basic system administration to enable user creation and access requirements. Maintain IT assets to ensure hardware and software is correct and current
* Create user guides for self-help register/systems

About you
* Tertiary qualifications in the Information Technology discipline, or working towards the completion of a qualification in IT, or equivalent experience
* Drivers License
* Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, and common business applications
* Familiarity with remote support tools
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
* Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
* Previous experience within Local Government is highly desirable

* Salary from $62,597 to $67,546 per year(depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
