The Nurse Bank/Casual Pool at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager is a registered nurse who supports and works collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manger (Nurse Bank/Casual Pool) and Nurse Manager (Patient Access and Coordination Hub). This role provides leadership and direction to nursing staff (Nurse Bank & Casual Pool and Transit Care Hub) and is responsible for the facilitation and provisions of operations and Human Resource Management consistent with contemporary standards and best practice.
The Associate NUM role currently operates from hours (Monday-Friday) & hrs (Saturday, Sunday) to assist with coordination of hospital staff coverage resulting from emergent leave and rostered deficits. The role reports professionally to Nurse Unit Manager of Nurse Bank & Casual Pool and performs tasks delegated by NUM to support operation of service including but not limited to, recruitment, rostering, staffing, and education.

Support the Nurse Unit Manager in the Bank and Casual Pool in developing a dynamic, flexible, resilient, and skilled workforce through the effective management of staff and professional development opportunities.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to nursing and midwifery staff and will be responsible for the facilitation and provision of safe, quality and cost-effective nursing care consistent with contemporary standards and best practice within the Mackay Base Hospital.
