This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026. The Role
Applecross SHS is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and proactive Teacher of Home Economics to join the Technologies Learning Area team. The ideal applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, a focus on building positive relationships, and the ability to deliver engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences for students.
Experience delivering Lower School Home Economics courses, Upper School General Food Science and Technology, and Certificate II in Hospitality will be highly regarded. We seek a teacher who adopts a student-focused approach, differentiates the curriculum to support and challenge learners across abilities, and integrates current and emerging curriculum and technologies. The successful applicant will ideally be skilled in explicit teaching strategies, reflective practice, and committed to a safe, accountable, and inclusive learning environment.

* Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
