About the role
Reporting into the Senior Legal Partner, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil Litigation Lawyer to join the dynamic legal team at R & R', based in Southport, Queensland. In this full-time role, you will be a key member of the firm's litigation practice, providing strategic, high-quality and commercially-focused legal services to a diverse range of clients.
What you'll be doing
* Managing a varied caseload of complex civil litigation matters, including contract disputes, property litigation, insolvency proceedings and general commercial litigation
* Providing expert legal advice and representation to clients throughout all stages of the litigation process, from initial advice and pre-litigation strategy to trial and appeal
* Drafting and reviewing a wide range of legal documents and correspondence, including pleadings, affidavits, settlement agreements and court applications
* Conducting thorough legal research, analysis and preparing detailed submissions to support the firm's litigation strategies
* Effectively managing client relationships and expectations, and collaborating with other team members to deliver the best possible outcomes
* Mentoring and supervising more junior lawyers and legal assistants within the litigation team
What we're looking for
* 8+ years' post-admission experience as a civil litigation lawyer, ideally gained within a reputable commercial law firm or in-house legal team
* Demonstrated expertise and a strong track record in managing a diverse civil litigation caseload, including experience in court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution
* Excellent legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide pragmatic, commercial advice
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to both legal and non-legal stakeholders
* A collaborative, client-focused approach, with the proven ability to build strong relationships and work effectively within a team environment
* A strong commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with changes in civil litigation law and practice
