Cloud Database Engineer
As a skilled Cloud Database Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing and managing databases and cloud environments across AWS and Azure.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering, and provide technical expertise in database architecture, automation, and cloud technologies. This includes designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions to ensure robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure that meets the evolving needs of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement and support redundant systems, disaster recovery policies, and data archiving to ensure the protection and integrity of data assets.
* Resolve technical support incidents in BCAA's AWS cloud infrastructure.
* Design, build, install, and configure database servers while ensuring optimal performance and security.
* Automate workloads in AWS, leveraging tools like PowerShell and scripting to streamline infrastructure services.
* Manage database operations, including strategic planning for production databases, data migrations, and system upgrades.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and automation solutions, as well as expertise in DBMS technologies such as SQL Server, Amazon RDS, Athena, and Oracle Databases.
Bonus skills include Amazon Web Services certifications and experience with networking, network security, and CI/CD practices.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, or database architecture, with 2+ years in an enterprise environment.
* Expertise in DBMS technologies, including SQL Server, Amazon RDS, Athena, and Oracle Databases.
* Proficiency with AWS cloud technologies such as EC2, EMR, S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and IAM.
