We are seeking a highly motivated experienced Commissioning Manager to lead our HV Specialised Services team and projects, located from our Brisbane office. About the role
The role of the Commissioning Manager leads a team who performs high level commissioning and maintenance testing on complex protection and control systems in transmission and distribution substations. The scope of work for the Commissioning Manager includes:
* Liaison with key stakeholders (clients, utilities & NSPs, Project Managers)
* Conducting meetings, creating and complying to schedules, ensuring plans and procedures are met and exceeded, testing, evaluations, installation and commissioning.
* Creating project commissioning schedules and planning testing and commissioning resources accordingly.
* Planning and undertaking Factory Acceptance, Site Acceptance, Site Integration and energisation testing of high voltage infrastructure.
* Writing, and ensuring compliance to, Commissioning Management Plans, Quality Assurance Plans and documentation, High Voltage Switching and Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and permit management in a commissioning or energised substation.
* Investigation and maintenance of complex power systems and substation control systems and supervision of HV technicians performing the work.
* Lead and assist in team building, onboarding and professional development.
* Build effective relationships with clients and consultants.
* Ensures that established work processes are followed, appropriate records and reports are maintained with all workplace incidents and non-compliances being reported to enable risks to be effectively managed.
* Ensure safety, environmental and quality compliance.
* This will be a hybrid role working between various project sites and the Brisbane office
Reporting to the Operations Manager – Specialised Services, you will be responsible for project preparation, supervision, and execution of on-site works. This includes, but is not limited to, protection and control system testing, commissioning, HV asset maintenance, installation, and site-based supervision.

About you
* Minimum 3 years' experience as Commissioning Manager of HV & Electrical Infrastructure contracts, supplier and subcontracts including commercial and stakeholder aspects.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of HV infrastructure and testing techniques.
* Demonstrated advanced fault-finding skills within HV/LV assets and associated control and protection systems.
* Proficient in hands-on testing of HV and secondary systems assets including Protection Relays, Current Transformers, Voltage Transformers, Power Transformers, HV Cables & HV switchgear
* Experience with Omicron test equipment
* Experienced in SCADA
* Self-motivated, have a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety
* Mentor and lead our team
* Manage client relations
* Experience producing quality test reports
* Proactive with chasing new work and supporting the estimating function.
* Background in, or experience with, utilities such as Network Service Providers (distribution and/or transmission), AEMO, etc.
Suitable candidates must have the following:
* Tertiary qualified in Electrical Engineering (preferrable)
* Current QLD Electrical work licence
* Current Australian drivers' licence
* HV Switching experience
* Statutory training (CPR & LVR)
* High Risk Work Licence (WP)
* Construction Card
