Located at Air Combat Systems Program Office (ACSPO) at RAAF Base Williamtown, the Deputy Project Manager is part of a diverse team responsible for delivering excellence in project governance and controls.

This position manages a range of project activities and coordinates project inputs in accordance with organisational practices, methods, and standards appropriate to the complexity of the project. It also leads a dynamic team in a complex environment.

This role is eligible for the Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP), a premium paid on top of the base salary under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA).


About our Team

ACSPO is part of the Aerospace Combat Systems Branch in CASG within the Department of Defence. It is the aviation asset management in‑service support agency for the Australian F‑35A Lightning II Air System, engaging local, regional, and international partners to sustain the F‑35 fleet.

Key Responsibilities

* Analyze performance against agreed plans and initiate strategies to achieve project outcomes.
* Develop and manage project schedules and budget elements.
* Plan and manage resources.
* Identify and analyse project risks.
* Review, analyse and propose solutions.
* Develop key documentation and reports.
* Manage time to meet deadlines.
* Communicate effectively, influencing and negotiating with stakeholders.
* Maintain stakeholder relationships.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, legislation, policy and procedures.

Security Clearance

Applicants must obtain and maintain a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 2.
