Business Development Manager (Mining / Surveying / Commercial / Government)

We work with industry, commercial and government clients to deploy reliable, scalable, safe Uncrewed operations across Australia.
As we expand our national footprint, we are seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive growth across the mining, surveying, commercial and government sectors .
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will lead Drone Forge's market expansion by generating new business opportunities, managing strategic partnerships, and securing long‑term service contracts.
This role requires a commercially driven individual with strong industry relationships, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate technical drone offerings into practical, high‑value solutions for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Prospect, identify and secure new clients across the mining, surveying, commercial and government sectors
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
Develop tailored proposals, quotes, capability presentations and commercial offers
Lead end‑to‑end sales cycles including negotiations and contract closure
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Engage with key stakeholders including operations managers, procurement teams, site supervisors, government buyers and surveying firms
Conduct client discovery sessions to understand operational challenges and align Drone Forge services
Represent Drone Forge at industry events, conferences and site visits
Strategic Growth
Provide market intelligence to support product development and go‑to‑market strategy
Identify opportunities for partnerships, industry collaborations and long‑term framework agreements
Work closely with operations, engineering and leadership teams to scope project requirements
Required Skills & Experience
Proven B2B or B2G sales experience in mining, resources, surveying, infrastructure, engineering, or government
Minimum 1‑2 years of B2B or B2G sales experience required
Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
Track record of generating revenue, closing contracts and meeting sales targets
Strong network within one or more of the target industries
Ability to communicate complex technical solutions simply and commercially
Excellent presentation, negotiation and proposal‑writing skills
Self‑driven, confident and able to operate autonomously
Exposure to UAVs, drones, surveying technologies, geospatial software, or asset‑management systems
Understanding of mining operations, government procurement or compliance frameworks
WA‑based or familiar with Australian mining & industrial markets
Experience with long‑sales‑cycle enterprise or service‑based offerings
