About the Role
The Business Analyst will drive business process transformation by evaluating current (AS-IS) and future (TO-BE) systems and processes, identifying gaps, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation. This role will also support the Finance and Procurement teams in other Business Analyst functions. The Business Analyst will translate complex requirements into actionable solutions, support testing and training activities for S/4 HANA implementation and contribute to change management through detailed process modelling and documentation. Build strong relationships to ensure alignment, mitigate risks, and deliver strategic outcomes that support organisational change.
In this role you will
Evaluate the difference between AS-IS and TO-BE system and business processes, close collaboration with stakeholders, business owners and departments.
Document the gaps identified between current and future state processes.
Actively participate in writing and executing test scripts (UAT).
Propose and communicate solutions to business problems, translate complex technical information into strategic recommendations for stakeholders and management.
Identify risks and recommend solutions, building and maintaining key relationships with providers and stakeholders to map the TO-BE business requirements and changes in TO-BE systems.
Apply analytical rigor to investigate and gather business requirements, convert them into process maps, and translate requirements into tangible organisational changes.
Work closely with the technical team and business stakeholders to ensure success of the project.
Create business process documents through available tools, supporting the team in comparing and understanding the upcoming changes in finance processes.
Engage with the change manager to articulate the TO-BE process and define the change impacts in detail through business process modelling and relevant artefacts.
Assist with the change manager and SME to ensure the TO-BE (S/4 HANA) system is fully tested, training materials are published at the right time, and trainings are completed as expected on time.
Qualifications
6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst across financial operations, procurement and accounting modules.
Experience across end-to-end business process mapping with ERP systems such as SAP S/4 HANA, SAP ECC 6.0, SAP FICO, Concur, Ariba.
Excellent communication skills with self-starter capabilities, stakeholder engagement, data-driven decision support.
Strong skills in process mapping, stakeholder management, training, data analysis and UAT testing and documentation.
Working experience across Queensland state departments is advantageous.
Desirable, not mandatory – Business Analyst certification such as CBAP. Desirable, not mandatory – Awareness of SAP Signavio tool for SAP best practices navigation.
