About the Department

The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

About the role

This role provides high-quality workplace relations advice and support for the department's schools and Early Learning Victoria workforces.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining policies and industrial instruments for education workforces, managing complex matters, providing technical advice and support to Ministers, senior executives, managers and principals, and preparing high quality briefings and submissions. This role may also include:

* Management of industrial relations processes, including enterprise bargaining
* Legislative change processes
* Management of Cabinet processes
* Stakeholder management
* Procurement/contract management
* Project management
* Program/strategy development.

Experience in public sector, school, or early childhood workplace relations will be highly regarded.

About us

This role is located within the Workplace Relations and Policy team, in the People and Workplace Relations (Schools) Division. The team is responsible for workplace relations and policy for Victorian government schools and Early Learning Victoria workforces.
