Tell me about this role:
We are currently looking for an Explosive Ordnance Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis.
This role will be based in Canberra and will play a critical part in supporting maritime landing craft.
No two days are the same in this role which is essential to the success of the project. We are looking for multi-skilled, flexible, hardworking people who are keen to grow their career within a leading Defence supplier.

What will I be doing day to day?
* Perform the function of the Armaments and EO integration Engineer SME.
* Obtain and exercise a Delegated Technical Authority within the field of Armaments and EO integration Engineering.
* Undertake Design Review, Design Acceptance and Technical Certification of Armaments and EO integration Engineering functions.
* Review, comment and Approval of engineering deliverables in line with Contracted timeframes.
* Identify any technical risks and develop technical risk assessments.
* Work with the System Safety team to identify any hazards resident within the Armaments and EO integration Engineering elements of the design and characterise the risks associated with these hazards.
What sort of skills do I need?
* Minimum five years' experience in an Acquisition or Shipbuilding position.
* Bachelor's Degree in an applicable discipline.
* Suitable experience within either the design or design review of communications, electronic systems, navigation systems, situational awareness systems, command and control systems and sensors.
* Experience in Defence Acquisition or Sustainment Projects
* Chartered engineer with Engineers Australia or equivalent highly desirable.
* Hold a minimum NV1 security clearance (must be an Australian citizen).
