Job Overview
This role is an integral part of our business development, supporting the Business Development Manager in expanding membership and contract opportunities.
The job involves identifying, planning, booking, and preparing internal and external business promotions, including presentations and trade function attendance. Tasks may include desktop publishing using Canva or similar technologies and participating in events during and after normal working hours.
Administrative support for the Chief Executive Officer on an ad hoc basis may also be required.
The role includes structured and unstructured work, with tasks such as clearing email mailboxes, processing new membership inquiries, scheduling meetings, issuing and tracking documentation, and data entry and validation.
Phone contact with members will be necessary, requiring a polite and business-like approach, including following up late-paying accounts.
Additional tasks may involve data entry into CRM systems, market research activities, and coordinating email marketing campaigns.
Successful candidates will demonstrate professional customer-service skills, sound business communication skills, and a can-do attitude in a small team environment.
Key responsibilities include working in a small team, seeking advice from the Business Development Manager, accurately following written procedures, and working confidently with Microsoft Office tools.
Other duties include clearing mailboxes, liaising with members, analysing and escalating potential risks, maintaining company systems, creating reports, participating in meetings, and completing directed online training activities.
Working conditions include on-site work 5 days per week in Canberra, with permanent part-time status.
Requirements
* A minimum of two years of equivalent administrative experience
* Exceptional time management, attention to detail, and prioritizing skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Pleasant phone manner and ability to work directly with members and clients
* Demonstrated aptitude for business development
* Self-motivation and ability to work unsupervised
* Australian citizenship
* AGSVA Baseline clearance or willingness to obtain one
