Mechanical Engineering - 2027 Graduate Program, Metals Assets Australia

Glencore Australia have a number of opportunities opening to graduating or recently graduated university students to join our Graduate Program commencing in February 2027. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in a global organisation that is committed to your success. Join us on this exciting journey and make a meaningful impact on your professional development.

About Us

As a key player in the Australian mining landscape, Glencore spans across 20 mine sites, responsibly sourcing commodities that advance everyday life. From the copper, cobalt and nickel powering the electric vehicle revolution, and the energy products like coal to help keep the lights on, what Glencore does touches every part of life. Our portfolio enables the transition to a low-carbon economy, while meeting society's energy needs. Beyond our extensive portfolio, Glencore offers unparalleled career and development opportunities, fostering strong communities. Join Glencore to be part of a team shaping a future where your contributions matter.

About the Role

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to rotate throughout our business and gain exposure to underground/surface mining and processing operations – a combination rarely seen on the one lease. The role will see you rotate through various departments including capital projects, asset management and reliability to broaden your understanding of the role that engineers play in the operation and maintenance of critical mining assets. Complex, fast paced problem solving, and on-the-run decision making is balanced with opportunities to think critically and develop long term strategies to engineering problems on site. Australian and site standards, capital budgeting, schedule development, compliance monitoring and maintenance strategies will all become common tools for you to work with while developing relationships with key stakeholders to form a well-rounded approach to engineering. You will have the opportunity to work with leaders in your field in the following locations:

* Mount Isa, QLD (Residential)
* McArthur River Mine, NT (FIFO)

About You

* Qualified with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or similar (prior to commencement)
* Committed to maintaining a safe work environment
* Exhibit an openness and willingness to learn

The Perks

* Competitive remuneration inclusive of allowances
* Be part of a structured Graduate Professional Development Program designed to accelerate your leadership potential
* Attend scheduled networking and social events with other graduates and members of the senior management teams
* Receive mentorship from leading industry professionals, guiding you towards becoming a future leader within the business
* Access to Glencore Rewards, our online discount platform with 100s of retailers – including Apple, Airbnb, and other retailers

Applications will be accepted via www.glencore.com/careers and close Sunday, 19 April 2026 by 5.00 pm. Please note: separate applications for Coal and Metals assets are required.
