ABOUT THE ROLE
The Production Supervisor plays a key role in leading the day-to-day operations of the Truss & Frame plant to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety in every build. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you'll oversee a team of truss and frame assemblers and operators to deliver accurate and timely production outcomes that meet quality and customer expectations.
You'll be hands-on in managing workflow, maintaining production schedules, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across people, processes, and equipment. This role is critical in upholding Dahlsens' strong commitment to safety, quality, and service excellence.
While truss and frame experience would be highly regarded, candidates with strong leadership experience from similar manufacturing or production environments are encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
* Overseeing daily production activities to ensure schedules, quality, and delivery requirements are met
* Leading by example to promote a strong safety and teamwork culture across the plant
* Supporting the Branch Manager in workforce planning, process improvement, and resource allocation
* Monitoring output and performance metrics to identify and implement improvement opportunities
* Ensuring compliance with quality control and operational procedures
* Coordinating communication between the yard, production, and dispatch teams
* Supporting training, development, and mentoring of team members
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across workflow, efficiency, and customer outcomes
* Acting as second-in-charge and supporting overall branch operations as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
* Proven experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role (timber, truss & frame, or similar)
* Strong operational and process management skills
* A proactive, hands-on approach to leadership and problem-solving
* Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality systems
* Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
* Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and production systems)
