About the Position:
As a Records Officer, you will:
Manage the registration, storage, digitisation, and disposal of records
Ensure compliance with the State Records Act 2000 and internal policies
Process incoming/outgoing mail and manage email records
Maintain data accuracy in the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)
Provide staff training and support in recordkeeping best practices
Contribute to compliance audits and reporting
Uphold confidentiality and promote records awareness across the Shire
Key Responsibilities Include:
Oversee lifecycle management of physical and digital records
Promote compliance with the Shires Recordkeeping Plan
Maintain high standards of accuracy in data entry and documentation
Coordinate mail processing and email correspondence management
Support and train staff in records processes and EDMS use
Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills and Experience Required:

High computer literacy and attention to detail in data entry
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and ability to maintain confidentiality
Understanding of records systems/standards (especially in local government)
Interest or experience in IT and digital transformation is desirable
