Job Description
As a Carpentry Trainer & Assessor at Builders Academy Australia (BAA), you'll play a key role in shaping the next generation of builders by delivering and assessing high-quality apprenticeship, school-based, and workplace-based training. This role will include regular travel to workplaces and trade training centres, you'll support apprentices and trainees to achieve their qualifications and career goals. This hands-on role combines training delivery, student support, and industry engagement, ensuring compliance with RTO standards and contributing to continuous improvement across our training programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Required to drive to the job site. Locations can range from Brighton to Rosebud, Mornington, Bayside and surrounding areas.
* Deliver engaging, compliant, and high-quality carpentry training and assessment across classroom and workplace settings.
* Prepare, plan, and facilitate sessions that cater to diverse learning styles and align with industry and compliance standards.
* Support apprentices and trainees through regular communication, feedback, and progress monitoring to ensure successful outcomes.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, students, and key stakeholders to enhance the student experience and program effectiveness.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
* Trade qualification in Carpentry or equivalent
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
* Demonstrated experience in apprenticeship-based training
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* High attention to detail, time management, and LMS/CRM proficiency
Additional Requirements
* Valid Australian working rights & Working with Children's Check (Employee) or willingness to obtain
* Police Check and medical (if required)
* Willingness to travel to training venues and worksites
* Participation in ongoing PD and compliance training
