Mechanic - Leading Hand
Permanent – Full Time – Northgate, Brisbane, QLD.
Afternoon Shift - Monday to Thursday 2 pm to 10 pm. Friday 12 pm – 8 pm
Occasional opportunity for Overtime on Saturdays
$46.56 per hour + 15% Afternoon shift loading - Penalties for overtime
On-call weekend rotating roster (Generally 1 in 4 weekends). On-call allowance paid
Full Uniforms provided
Responsibilities
Based in Northgate on Brisbane's northside, we are seeking to add an experienced and qualified Leading Hand Diesel Mechanic to our expanding team. Reporting to our on-site Maintenance Supervisor and Equipment Manager, as part of a 50+ vehicle fleet operation. The day-to-day tasks that you will be responsible for include:
Oversee a team of 5 Mechanics and 1-2 Apprentices
Complete maintenance tasks for compliance with maintenance and safety standards/procedures.
Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor on daily operational tasks. i.e. maintaining the company's computerised maintenance management system, paperwork processing, parts identification, and ordering, etc.
Carry out routine maintenance, diagnostics, and unplanned repair work on our fleet
Conduct test driving and/or operating vehicles to verify repairs have been completed to the required standard
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
Minimum HR licence
Experience with a range of makes and models of heavy vehicles and trailers, including with waste bodies, electrics and or hydraulics will be advantageous.
Computer literacy skills with experience in JDE (CMMS) and Microsoft Office programs will be advantageous.
Focus on safety and sustainability.
Have good people skills and the ability to work in a diverse team environment.
