About the Role
Busy Bees at Bentleigh East is seeking a passionate Part-Time Chef to prepare nutritious and delicious meals for the children in our care. With a licensed capacity of 81 children, you will play a key role in supporting their health, wellbeing, and learning by providing fresh, high-quality meals each day.
This role is 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday), with flexibility for morning to early afternoon shifts.
As our Chef, you will:
* Prepare fresh, healthy, and culturally inclusive meals and snacks for children
* Plan and deliver weekly menus in line with Nutrition Australia and Busy Bees guidelines
* Cater for special dietary requirements including allergies, intolerances, and cultural needs
* Ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance (HACCP)
* Manage kitchen supplies, stock rotation, and ordering
* Work closely with centre leadership to promote children's health and wellbeing
What You'll Need
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
* Food Handling Certificate
* Knowledge of HACCP, food safety programs, and menu planning requirements
* Experience as a Chef in childcare, schools, or aged care settings (highly desirable)
* Current Working with Children Check (VIC)
* Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
* Full Australian working rights
