This role works closely with the Planning, Mining, CHPP & Logistics teams.As a Mine Geologist you are the interpreter between the resource and the operation.
This role focuses on influencing planning, coal mining and coal processing performance through the practical application of geological and operational information and mining know-how.In This Role, You WillLead coal mined and coal crushed performance with a focus on productivity, quality and handleability through processingLead coal recovery in line with reserved tonnages and qualitiesUndertake routine pit and stockpile inspections providing guidance and feedback to planning and production teams on coal mining practicesProvide Daily coal mining, stockpiling and feed plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary teamProvide coal exposure and mining guidance through plans and directly to operationsMaintain in-pit and ROM coal inventory movements for up-to-date, short-term schedulingMaintain and improve reconciliation processesAssist in conventional mine geology processes of data collection, interpretationUndertake projects and investigations and identify improvement initiatives.
Provide support in delivering outcomes and achieving improvement.Work across a range of software to both review existing information and collect new information, generating and building on databases relevant to modelling, mine designs, coal quality, recoveryImprove and develop the role, site systems, and processes over time.What We're Looking ForA degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or demonstrated relevant experience (Essential)Open Cut Coal mining geology experience (Essential), Hunter Valley or multi-seam mining (Advantageous)Experience in a coal mining or coal planning role (Advantageous)An understanding of coal quality / beneficiationStrong interpersonal skills, an ability to work well with people from all backgrounds at all levels within the business, including experience working closely with production teamsAbility to turn data and observations into clear, practical adviceConfidence with numbers, writing, and using geological software/toolSafety-focused and systems-orientedAlways looking for ways to improve and work smarterComfortable speaking up and driving performanceTeam player with a proactive, can-do attitudeDriver's LicenceSenior Geologists are equally encouraged to apply, with the package considering experience and capability.What We OfferBengalla values its people and their contribution to the operation.
