About the opportunityThe Lactation Consultant provides specialised, evidence-based lactation support within the Neonatal Unit, which delivers family-centred care to newborns and families across North Queensland as the only tertiary neonatal service outside Brisbane.
Working across the NICU, Special Care Nursery and the neonatal Retrieval/Transport Service, the role directly assists mothers to establish and maintain milk supply, manage lactation challenges, and progress their babies from tube to oral and breastfeeding.Competitive salary and benefitsSalary range: $***** to $***** p.h. Completion of Neonatal Specific Competencies is mandatory for nursing staff working within the Neonatal Unit.This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
