Are you a dual-qualified strength & conditioning coach and physiotherapist ready to elevate human performance in one of Australia’s most high performance operational environments?
Headquarters Air Command (HQAC) is seeking a energetic professional to join the A9 Human Performance & Safety (HPS) team. This is not your average clinic or gym role - you will be embedded within the Air Force’s Human Performance Optimisation (HPO) work stream, delivering proactive, evidence-based programs that keep our personnel mission-ready and injury-resilient.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead physical preparation and recovery programming for aircrew and operational personnel
- Deliver targeted physiotherapy interventions to reduce injury risk and enhance availability
- Apply performance monitoring, load management, and functional screening in high-stakes settings
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including PTIs, medical officers, and Defence health staff
- Travel to operational bases and remote field sites to deliver services where they are needed most
- Contribute to injury prevention strategy, data reporting, and inter-agency communication
What You’ll Bring
- ASCA Level 1+ (or equivalent international S&C; accreditation)
- Physiotherapy degree (or Exercise/Sport Science + postgrad Physio)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in occupational or sports performance environments
- AHPRA registration and Federal Police Check
- Bonus points for APA titling in sports, musculoskeletal, pain or occupational health
