What's involved – You will provide healthcare to residents and visitors to Central West Hospital and Health Service (CWHHS). Be part of a local medical team consisting of a Director of Medical Services (DMS), Senior Medical Officers (SMO) and Principal House Officer/Registrars who form part of a team of 31 SMOs and PHO/Registrars working in a unique employment model across the health service.
You will be working in a multidisciplinary team in a general practice, hospital and outreach setting to promote healthy lifestyles, manage chronic disease and provide emergency and inpatient services.
Provisional Fellow Senior Medical Officers work without supervision in their advanced specialised training skill, and work under direct and remote supervision in other aspects at the level required of their general practice training.
The medical team participates in a seven day first and second on-call roster.

Role requirements:
Current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority) to practice as a medical practitioner.
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
Possession of a Fellowship in General Practice (FACRRM or FRACGP) or evidence of acceptance as a trainee leading to these qualifications.
Appointment as a Rural Generalist or Provisional Fellow will require one or more of the following advanced skills - Indigenous Health, Mental Health, Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, Internal Medicine, Small Town Remote Medicine/Rural Medicine (college certified).
Current ALS level certification within the last 3 years.
A ‘Rural Generalist’ qualification (FACRRM, FARGP or FRACGP-RG) is highly regarded.
You are required to maintain the credentials which the employer determines are necessary for you to perform your duties within the scope of your clinical practice.
It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and hepatitis B during their employment.
