 
        
        Head Chef – Whittlesea Bowls Club
The Whittlesea Bowls Club is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.
Following major renovations, our club now features a 100-seat bistro/restaurant and a 150-seat function room, offering a fantastic opportunity for a culinary leader to make their mark in a thriving venue with a loyal customer base.

Key Responsibilities:
 * Lead daily kitchen operations and supervise the kitchen team.
 * Maintain food and wage costs within budget.
 * Plan and prepare high-quality meals aligned with our menu standards.
 * Create innovative food concepts, special menus, and promotional offerings.
 * Ensure compliance with food safety and OH&S standards.
 * Conduct regular stocktakes and food safety audits.
 * Oversee ordering and stock control processes.
 * Ensure portion control and minimize food wastage.
 * Maintain consistency in quality and presentation across all dishes.
 * Develop prep lists, rosters, and daily task sheets.
 * Handle customer feedback and complaints in collaboration with FOH.
Skills & Attributes:
 * Proven experience in a similar Head Chef or Senior Chef role (minimum 2 years).
 * Creative, passionate about food, and takes pride in food presentation and service.
 * Strong leadership and team management skills.
 * Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
 * Knowledge of food and wage cost control.
 * Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety protocols.
 * Excellent planning, communication, and organisational skills.
 * Hands-on approach with the ability to train and develop staff.
 * Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
