Why work with us
Every child and young person deserves a great education. We have a strategy that aims to unlock every child's potential now and into the future, one that, in partnership with learners, students, parents and the wider South Australian community, will build a world-leading public education system that is equitable and prioritises learning and wellbeing. Together we will make our education system the best it can be. When our children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state.
About the role
Are you passionate about increasing supports for families and children within your community? Are you looking for a part-time (or additional) role to top up your working week? Are you active and willing to connect with your community?
The Rural and Remote Solutions (RRS) Promotion Coordinator serves as the main point of contact for individuals interested in exploring Family Day Care (FDC). This role provides hands-on support and connects with community stakeholders to promote FDC as a viable employment opportunity in rural and remote communities across South Australia. The Family Day Care programme, within the Department for Education, focuses on enriching the lives of South Australian children and their families by providing and coordinating high-quality home-based childcare. The service enables families with dependent children to participate in the workforce and the broader community through their involvement in the programme. The Coordinator is accountable to the RRS Manager in supporting and promoting the establishment of home-based childcare in regional and remote communities, resulting in the effective delivery of the FDC programme in accordance with Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment guidelines and early childhood policies.
The RRS FDC Promotions Coordinator engages with community stakeholders to advocate for FDC as a viable and flexible employment opportunity in rural and remote communities, including collaboration with family support services, councils, volunteer groups, play groups, governing councils, local universities and training organisations.
