About the role
As part of a multi-disciplined team reporting to the Team Leader Planning Investigations, you will be responsible for detection, action and timely resolution of planning contraventions and complaints across Wyndham City.
This is a rare training opportunity! Building on your previous enforcement background, this role will provide training in all aspects specific to the role of Planning Investigations. A valuable opportunity to obtain a skill set not available via other means which will enhance opportunities for employment in this field.
Types of Investigations are wide and varied including signage control, use and development of properties, home based business controls, subdivisions, environmental issues, residential amenity controls, industrial property controls.
What your day will look like
* Liaising with and advising the public on the Council's planning requirements
* Undertaking inspections and issue contravention notices and infringements
* Presenting evidence at Magistrates and other Victorian courts, Tribunals and hearings
What you will bring
* Planning enforcement, statutory investigation, or other enforcement experience will be highly regarded
* High-level communication, negotiation and conflict management skills
* Knowledge of the Victorian Planning Scheme, related Acts and legislation desirable but not essential as training will be provided
* Working knowledge of the Victorian Court system
