We are currently seeking applications for a fixed-term Cane Rail Labourer position located at the Proserpine Mill for the 2026 Maintenance Season. This is a fixed-term position working alongside a team of Cane Rail Labourers on the construction and maintenance services of track and civil works

Your Role in Action
Team Collaboration – Work as part of a team with other members of the tramline gang
Tool Maintenance – Maintain tools and gear in good order
Sleeper Replacement – Change sleepers under tramline and spike sleepers to secure them
Point Cleaning – Manual cleaning of points to ensure their safe operation
Bridge Maintenance – Perform hands-on maintenance and repair duties on tramline bridges as required
Your Winning Combination
Qualifications and skills that may be considered advantageous include experience working at heights, previous railway or tramway experience, and proficiency in safe manual handling techniques. Possession of a current White Card will also be viewed favourably.
Applicants who demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement, particularly in safety and environmental practices, will be highly regarded. Strong problem-solving and communication skills, previous railway experience, self-motivation with excellent organisational abilities, and the capacity to guide, support, and collaborate effectively within a team are also highly valued.
