About the role
House on the Hill is recognised as a leading provider of Paediatric Therapy Services in the ACT and are based in a stunning, nature immersed location, 10 mins from Belconnen centre. As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and development of children with a range of needs, including those with physical, cognitive, or sensory processing challenges. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work within a Multi-Disciplinary, client-focused environment and make a meaningful impact on the lives of the families you assist.
What you'll be doing
1. Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify each child's unique strengths, challenges, and goals
2. Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans to help children achieve their functional, educational, and developmental objectives
3. Providing one-on-one and group therapy sessions tailored to each child's needs, focusing on areas such as fine motor skills, sensory integration, and self-care
4. Collaborating with parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach to each child's care
5. Documenting progress, writing reports, and maintaining detailed client records
6. Participating in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices in paediatric occupational therapy
What we're looking for
1. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
2. Experience working as a paediatric occupational therapist, preferably in a clinical or community-based setting would be favourable (new grads welcome to apply)
3. New graduates are welcome to apply for this position with no minimum experience required in paediatric occupational therapy
4. Demonstrated expertise in assessing and treating children with a diverse range of developmental, physical, and sensory needs
5. General assessment and treatment skills are required with no specific paediatric tools or interventions mandated
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with families, educators, and other healthcare providers
7. Exceptional problem-solving and clinical reasoning skills
8. Commitment to providing high-quality, client-centred care and a passion for making a difference in the lives of children and their families
9. Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist is required
10. Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
