Cockburn BARC is a vibrant and member-based community hub nestled in Yangebup, Western Australia offering a diverse mix of sport, recreation and social connection. Since opening its modern facility in 2018, we have two synthetic bowling greens (1 fully covered), 2 five-a-side soccer pitches, 4 padel courts and flexible indoor spaces for functions. Our venue also features a restaurant and a fully licensed bar with a pool table. Governed by an elected board and managed by a great team of staff, we provide great hospitality and service for your local community club.
We also host weekly Bingo game on Monday nights.
About the Role
As General Manager, you'll oversee the full spectrum of club operations — from bar service to bookings systems, events to finances. You'll be the driving force behind our culture, member experience, and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Hospitality & Operations
Oversee bar and food service operations with strong product knowledge
Understand the liquor license requirements for a club license
Maintain high service standards, compliance, and cost control
Hold a RSA Approved Managers certification (or ability to achieve at commencement of role)
Marketing, Events & Promotions
Plan and execute activations, themed nights, and community events
Develop promotions that increase patronage and member engagement
Attract and retain club sponsors and activate ideas for long term sponsorship.
Recruit, train, roster, and manage staff and contractors
Foster a positive, accountable, and team-first workplace culture
Facilities Management
Coordinate maintenance, suppliers, and compliance requirements
Ensure the venue is safe, welcoming and presentation-ready at all times
Systems & Administration
Manage and oversee website updates, booking platforms, and membership databases
Capability to hold as the license holder for the weekly Bingo gaming nights
Improve systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy
Finance & Payroll
Management of payroll, accounts, reporting and budgeting
Present and review financials for monthly Board reports
Understanding of Registered Clubs and Licensed Award is a plus.
Monitor performance metrics and identify growth opportunities
About You

Proven experience in hospitality or club management
Strong understanding of food & beverage operations
Demonstrated marketing and event coordination skills
Financial literacy and payroll/account experience
Tech-confident with booking, POS, and membership systems
