About the role
In your role you will report to our Night Manager and Rooms Division Manager and be an integral part of the front office team as the hotel representative in the absence of senior management. You will work with the Front Office Leadership team to balance guest expectations, colleague needs and profitability. Your success will depend on your ability to run a smooth night shift operation, strong organisational and communication abilities, and attention to detail to ensure accuracy of the Hotel's reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Hold responsibility and accountability for the efficient operation of the Hotel.
Cross check and balance work completed during the day for all outlets on a shift.
Warmly welcoming guests, assisting with luggage and ensuring an efficient arrival and departure.
Ensure professionalism and accuracy with information and billing during arrival and departure.
Assist in maintaining responsibility for the overall auditing and administration function of the Night Audit team.
Maintain procedures for cash handling and security on front desk.
Conduct daily hotel auditing including balance of revenue and payments from all hotel outlets.
Proactive complaint resolutions with a win/win outcome.
Promptly respond to inquiries including reception, switchboard and reservations.
Ensure details of regular guests and Loyalty members are updated.
Work with security to manage safety and be prepared for fire or emergencies.
Accurately closing off and rolling over the PMS.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Hotel Assistant Night Manager and night audit in a high-volume hotel (200+ rooms).
Proven experience with PMS: Opera Cloud.
Exceptional customer service, communication and time management skills.
Strong Microsoft Office skills and Excel proficiency.
Friendly, warm personality with immaculate grooming and presentation.
Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative with strong problem-solving skills.
Proactive and resourceful with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work evening shifts 11pm – 7am on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
Willingness to obtain or have a current QLD RSA and First Aid Certificate.
Qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance desirable but not essential.
Must hold unlimited work rights in Australia.
