About the role
In this role you will provide operational, administrative and analytical support for the Australian Capital Territory Audit of Surgical Mortality (ACTASM) audit and the South Australian Audit of Surgical Mortality (SAASM) audit. The audits are supported and funded by the Australian Capital Territory and South Australian Departments of Health and include both public and private hospitals. You will work closely with Clinical Directors, committees and stakeholders to ensure the audits run smoothly and produce meaningful, high-quality outputs.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the day-to-day operational delivery of ACTASM and SAASM
Building and maintaining effective relationships with surgeons, hospitals and health departments
Supporting Clinical Directors and the Project Manager with audit activity and reporting
Overseeing data integrity and undertaking statistical analysis
Developing research proposals and independently conducting research using ANZASM data
Preparing scientific reports, journal articles and other written outputs
Developing webinars, seminars and educational materials based on emerging audit findings
Contributing to continuous improvement of systems and processes
Providing committee and meeting support as required, including agendas and papers
This role is full time and on a 12-month maximum term contract.
Skills and ExperienceAs the ideal candidate you will:
• Hold a postgraduate degree or equivalent in health science.
• Experience undertaking clinical research and/or analysing and interpreting large datasets.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office, reference management and statistical analysis software.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
