Find purpose and impact
As the Manager Resource Recovery & Efficiency you'll lead the strategic and operational delivery of solid waste, recycling and sustainability services across the local government area. Make an impact through the delivery of quality waste services by overseeing operations of regional waste facilities and driving circular economy planning and outcomes, The position plays a key role in shaping Council's approach to sustainability initiatives, managing assets and budgets, building strong stakeholder relationships, and providing expert advice to support informed decision‑making.
You'll Make An Impact By
* Leading and managing waste and resource recovery services, including domestic and commercial waste, recycling, organics, waste facilities, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient service delivery.
* Driving sustainability and circular economy initiatives with a regional focus, developing and implementing strategies, business cases and grant‑funded projects that improve resource efficiency and environmental outcomes.
* Providing strategic and technical advice to Council, executive leadership and stakeholders on waste management, asset planning, risk management and emerging industry trends.
* Overseeing asset and financial management, including operational and capital budgets, asset lifecycle planning, facility master plans and performance monitoring.
* Leading, developing and mentoring a dedicated team, fostering a high‑performance, customer‑focused culture while building strong internal and external relationships across government, industry and the community.
What You'll Bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
* Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline or extensive waste, sustainability, energy management and/or recycling industry experience with related tertiary study.
* Solid knowledge of the concepts, principles and practical applications of total asset management of civil infrastructure assets.
* Ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external to an organisation.
* Demonstrated commercial acumen and contract management skills with the ability to organise and manage conflicting work priorities.
* Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills, further supported by skills in negotiation and conflict resolution.
We Would Also Love You To Have
* Experience developing organisational sustainability strategies particularly in the areas of energy and resource management.
* Post Graduate qualification in Business Management.
* Experience with integrated/sustainable solid waste management.

$139,693
to
$188,997
