Job Overview
We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to help keep the magic running behind the scenes. Enjoy a supportive team, flexible part-time hours, and a workplace filled with history, creativity, and charm.
This is a part-time role (24 hours per week), which can be worked over three full days or four to five shorter days, depending on the successful candidate's preference. Please note that office presence is required on Mondays and Tuesdays.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys consistent, process-driven work and takes pride in accuracy, organisation, and meeting deadlines—while handling sensitive information with discretion and diplomacy.

Key Responsibilities
* Reconciliation of business accounts
* Sales and cash reconciliations
* Payroll: Prepare and process weekly payroll, respond to employee payroll queries, and manage lodgement of superannuation, workers' compensation, and payroll tax
* Accounts Payable: Enter supplier invoices, maintain payables schedules, load payments, and respond to supplier queries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
* Accounts receivable management
* Assist with the production of financial reports
* Maintain electronic filing systems
* Provide support to senior finance staff as required

Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a general accounting role
* Formal bookkeeping training preferred but not essential
* Advanced knowledge of payroll procedures and relevant legislation
* Experience with GST and payroll tax
* High level of IT literacy, including advanced Microsoft Office skills
* Xero experience is essential
* Experience with Deputy and Lightyear preferred but not essential
* Ability to quickly learn new systems and software
* Fast and accurate data entry skills
* Highly organised and able to meet deadlines
* Professional written and verbal communication skills
