The Role
Reporting to the Store Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of IGA Mermaid Waters Grocery Department, which operates 365 days a year. As Grocery Manager, you'll be a visible leader who takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming environment for customers, team members, and the local community.
You'll ensure the store consistently delivers on key performance indicators including sales, gross profit, wages, and loss, while maintaining outstanding presentation, service standards, and team engagement.

Key Responsibilities
* Inspire, lead, coach, and develop a team of 30+ team members
* Foster a positive culture built on support, customer focus, career progression, community involvement, and FUN
* Champion workplace safety for both team members and customers
* Drive and exceed store KPIs including sales, GP, wages, and loss
* Deliver exceptional visual merchandising and uphold food safety standards
* Lead with pace while maintaining outstanding quality of service and product
* Ensure the store remains a destination shopping experience every day

What You'll Bring
* Minimum 3 years' proven supermarket retail management experience
* Experience managing a department within a supermarket,
* Demonstrated success leading large teams (20+ team members)
* Strong organisational and delegation skills
* Inspirational leadership style with a genuine passion for retail and people
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* A strong commitment to staff development, training, and upskilling
* Proactive, adaptable mindset with the ability to respond quickly to change
* Sound administration and financial analysis capability
* Strong visual merchandising experience
* Confidence managing large stock operations
* Warm, respectful, and confident leadership approach
* Ability to work a Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday roster
* Australian work rights are essential
