Primary objective 
Deliver high quality, culturally appropriate and effective physiotherapy services within NT Health.
Context statement 
NT Health provides integrated allied health services in a variety of service settings including acute and sub-acute care, rehabilitation, 
primary health care, aged care and mental health. Currently seeking applicants in Physiotherapy. This position will require the applicant to 
work across settings as part of a rural generalist service model. There will be two available positons, with applicants being sought for the 
following areas: Community and Acute.
Key duties and responsibilities 
1. Provide timely, clinically and culturally appropriate Physiotherapy services under minimal supervision within a multidisciplinary
framework. 
2. Provide feedback to senior staff and management on program and clinical issues. 
3. Provide clinical/professional supervision and/or support to students and relevant staff. 
4. Prioritise and manage a caseload within a dynamic and evolving work environment to ensure timelines and health outcomes are met. 
5. Co-ordinate and/or contribute to continuous quality improvement and service development activities at a local or regional level to
ensure delivery of contemporary physiotherapy services. 
6. Contribute to the achievement of work unit goals and key performance indicators. 
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. 
8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary work practices and role modelling behaviour in accordance with NT Health
values.
Selection criteria 
Essential 
1. Relevant qualifications in physiotherapy that meets membership eligibility requirements of the Australian Health Practioner
Registration Agency (AHPRA) and registration for practice with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. 
2. Post graduate experience in providing contemporary high level clinical acute and sub-acute physiotherapy services to patients and
families/carers. 
3. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven experience in working effectively with patients and
families/carers of diverse cultural and social backgrounds. 
4. Well-developed communication, interpersonal skills, negotiation and conflict management skills, with experience working in a team
environment to achieve positive health outcomes. 
5. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision of students and/or staff and a commitment to professional development. 
6. Proven ability to implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities. 
7. Proven ability to efficiently and effectively manage a high-volume workload. 
8. Hold current NT drivers’ licence or have the ability to obtain and ability and willingness to travel by car, 4WD vehicle and/or light
aircraft to visit and work in rural and remote communities for periods of up to 5-days at a time.
Desirable 
1. Post-graduate qualifications or experience in clinical education, leadership/management or speciality practice area.
