About the Role|In addition, the PHO is expected to assist with quality assurance, audit, and departmental research, including patient consent, randomisation, management of trial protocols, data collection and interpretation.
Based predominantly in the pre-admission clinic, the role will require the PHO to work in various hospital locations, including operating theatres, the day surgery and treatment unit, and with the acute pain service including participating in out of hours acute pain rosters.
- Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
- Participation in the on-call roster to provide after-hours services in accordance with the needs of Health Service
- Lead and manage staff by fostering and committing to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by maintaining and evaluating safety and quality practices and initiatives.
