About the role
As the IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering IT support to employees and relevant stakeholders across the business as needed. As an integral part of the IT Department to ensure development and maintenance of solutions to support the goals of the Group.
As the central escalation point within the business for all IT related matters, you will be hands-on in delivering excellent technical support with outstanding customer service.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Delivery of high-quality IT helpdesk and desktop support for employees across the group.
* Provide friendly and helpful technical assistance and training to employees across the group on the use of systems and technology.
* Provide the first line of technical triage for user reported cyber events or concerns.
* Participate in the Continual Service Improvement of IT Services.
* Manage and attend to support queries from various sources (email, calls, etc).
* Management of Windows-based environments and Microsoft 365 cloud services, including user account, permission, and access-right administration through Azure Active Directory and integrations with third‐party vendors.
* Administer and support Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, primarily Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager & Apple Business Manager.
* Ability to prioritise and attend to several task concurrently, including switching between multiple business units, their environments, policies and procedures.
* Occasional travel to bases will be required (scheduled and ad hoc).
* Install and configure software applications and provide end user operational support.
* Administer, monitor, deployment and ongoing support of Microsoft 365 and Azure.
* Responsible for workstation deployment and management via Intune / Endpoint Manager.
* Setup and maintenance of network infrastructure.
* Implementation of IT systems changes, including adherence to internal change control policies and procedures.
* Provide emergency response assistance as required during cyber events or critical outages.
* Completion of monthly maintenance checks.
* Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation.
* Liaison with service providers and vendor.
* Deploy and Maintain data backup and restore systems.
* Assist with delivery of new initiatives and projects.
About you
* Higher education qualifications at Certificate or Diploma level.
* Experience working in a similar IT role supporting staff by delivering onsite and remote support.
* Experience working with Microsoft client operating systems.
* Highly knowledgeable with Microsoft 365 technologies (Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune).
* Familiar with security concepts and Multi-Factor Authentication, Data Loss Prevention and M365 Defender.
* Experienced using remote access software.
* Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and networking equipment.
* Certification in Microsoft365 and Azure.
* Excellent initiative, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Experience undertaking root cause analysis and identifying recurring and complex problems.
* Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to work autonomously with minimal direction.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A current driver's licence is essential.
